Time Warner Inc. made an unsolicited bid of $1.4 billion for Endemol NV almost 3 weeks back. It seems the Amsterdam based television production giant, Endemol was the point of interest for Time Warner. The bid was made at a sensitive moment for Endemol as it works with its creditors to restructure its balance sheet.
It seems both Time Warner and Endemol are enacting the real-life game of Deal or No Deal.
The answer was a thanks but no thanks for this offer. Endemol has declined to comment publicly on this bid but seems to be focussed on fixing its balance sheet. Like Endemol, Time Warner declined to comment publicly on the matter.
So time would unfold if it is a deal or no deal for this bid.
